The Body Snatchers by Jack Finney – A Review
Another interesting read from the S.F. Masterworks series by Gollancz, this book was first released in 1955, and as such anyone picking it up should expect a novel which contains social stereotypes from that period, which it does, but has the book dated badly? Is it now just too out of touch with modern sensibilities to be enjoyable? The answer to both of these questions for me, is ‘No’. But let’s get into the details, which will contain some mild spoilers. Read more…

On the writing road again!
With five published novels under my belt within three story-lines, I no longer feel like the complete novice writer I once was, though i’m still struggling to figure out what the best writing routine is for me. Antique airship appears over New York City.
During the unexpected thunderstorm which blanketed the city last night a huge airship of obviously antique and arcane design appeared over 7th Avenue. Clearly in a state of serious disrepair the colossal craft was first thought to be derelict and devoid of human life, but after being boarded by city officials it was discovered the zeppelin was discovered to be fully crewed although the crew members were all in need of immediate medical attention. The Buddha is watching
Six months ago as usual I came to Whitby for the Whitby Goth Weekend with friends and had another splendid time with a visit up to the Abbey for their Night of Victorian Gothic, several excellent meals in local restaurants with friends, and of course some spectacular live music performances from some great bands like The Spear of Destiny. Ancient Sorceries . . .
Well the days have definitely drawn in now, and as the wind blusters and blows it’s way around the house’s eves, acting for all the world like some sulky creature that likes nothing better than knock a few things over, I find myself increasingly drawn toward my fireside and a bit of toe toasting flame.
